Waco is a city of around 140,000 people in McLennan County, sitting along the Brazos River about halfway between Dallas and Austin on Interstate 35. The city is home to Baylor University, one of the largest private universities in Texas, which brings a stable population of students, faculty, and staff to the city year-round. Waco's national profile got a major boost from HGTV's "Fixer Upper," which drew attention to the city's older housing stock and sparked a wave of home renovation interest. Magnolia Market at the Silos on Webster Avenue is now one of the most-visited spots in Central Texas, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
The housing stock in Waco reflects the city's history. Older neighborhoods in East Waco and South Waco contain some of the city's earliest homes - Craftsman bungalows, small frame houses, and early brick construction dating back to the early 1900s. Central and west Waco have the bulk of the postwar ranch-style homes built from the 1950s through the 1970s, and west Waco near Woodway and Hewitt has seen newer subdivision construction through the 2000s and 2010s. Cameron Park, one of the largest urban parks in Texas, sits along the river and anchors the western neighborhoods. We also serve homeowners in nearby Bryan, TX and in Killeen, TX, where similar clay soil conditions and a comparable mix of housing eras create the same demand for well-built concrete work.
